Colors and Chakras

Why do we associate different colors with Chakras?

Colors are an effect of lightwaves on our human eyes. We see a color as such: a red ball is red because it is absorbing every color of the visible light spectrum except red. Red lightwaves then get reflected and make their way to our eyes, so we see the ball as red.

Red waves are the longest.

The way a wave of light can be red is the frequency of the wave is longer than say yellow or blue. It is a low frequency wave.

That’s why the lower Chakras match with the “lower” colors.

The red Chakras sits in the lowest point of our spine and is thus associated with grounding or earth or gross matter or lowness. The sound that which us humans feel a vibration this low in our bodies is a super low bass note – and sounds are waves and low sounds are long waves JUST LIKE RED.

Wavelengths get shorter as we go up the color spectrum.

A yellow light’s wave has a higher frequency of waves or you could say the up’n’down of the wave “goes faster.” A green wave is higher, blue is even higher, and so on up to violet.

Physics + Chakra stuff = 🤯

The more high-pitched the sound, the higher the frequency of the wave, which matches with the visible light spectrum frequencies, which matches with the higher up the Chakras are in our bodies. Mind blown?
